Welcome to Rockland, the Lobster Capitol of the World
Rockland is home not only to the Taber but also to lobster boats, offshore fishing vessels, sleek pleasure yachts, and several other windjammers. The Taber is berthed just a short walk from the shops in Main Street's handsome nineteenth-century brick buildings. Just up the road is the storybook village of Camden, and the inland hills offer spectacular hiking. Throughout the region, exceptional accommodations range from cozy B&Bs and elegant inns to modern motels and full-service seaside resorts. Click here to find out about special events and festivals in Rockland.
Before or after your cruise, you may want to explore the area. The Farnsworth Museum, home of the Wyeth Family Maine Collection, plus the Transportation Museum are a must. Day trips to the islands of Monhegan, North Haven, or Vinalhaven are recommended. Camden and Rockland are noted for their local specialty stores.
By car, Rockland is a leisurely two hours up Route 1 from Portland. You may fly into the small airport a few miles away at Owls Head, the Bangor International Airport an hour and a half away, or the Portland International Airport about two hours away. Train service is available from Boston to Portland, and buses run regularly from New York, Boston, and Portland to Rockland Downtown. Limousine service is also available from Portland. We offer private parking for all our passengers.

We will be ready to welcome you aboard the Taber after 4 p.m. Sunday. A member of the crew will help you with your bags (please pack in soft luggage that's easily stowed) and show you to your cabin. We depart at about 10 o'clock Monday morning, but not until everyone has had his fill of blueberry pancakes and Maine maple syrup.
